Collioure, France

We have been hoping to spend some more time in southern France, as it is so close to Barcelona and offers some incredible scenery, culture, and some of the most beautiful little towns.  Since my mom and sister were visiting from the States, we had the perfect opportunity for a day trip to the gorgeous French coastal town of Collioure,

Just north of the Spain - France border, this little town is rich in Catalan history.  It is incredibly charming with its mid-evil cobblestone streets, colorfully painted houses, and prime location on the turquoise Mediterranean Sea.  We spent most of the day wandering through the little streets, peering into shop windows, viewing the lighthouse converted into a church and the grand castle/fortress.  Not to mention enjoyed an delicious mid afternoon nutella crepe and coffee!

This sleepy little town lures you in and leaves you wanting more.  Once you get a taste of Collioure, you'll long to explore more of the French Riviera!
