Girona, Spain

In the midst of packing up our lives and moving to Spain, we didn't have much time to celebrate our two year anniversary at the end of August.  We vowed to each other that we would get away together once we arrived in Spain to reminisce on where the Lord has brought us, and dream about the adventures to come.

We decided to spend the weekend in nearby Girona and Cadaques, part of the famous Costa Brava northern Spain. Girona (featured here) was stunning, a small town with lots to offer for a couple who loves good food and long scenic walks.  We had some of the best house wine and local Catalan dishes in a small restaurant whose outdoor tables sprawled across cobble stone steps in the historic district; sampled probably the best Gelato I've ever had at Rocambolesc Gelateria; and feasted on the various textures and colors that lined the Arabic bathhouse, cathedral, and simple but stunning alleyways, door frames, and steps.

Girona welcomed us with open arms, and simply allowed us to enjoy time with each other.
